564 deaths in 6 days due to intense heat wave in Pakistan

564 people died in last 6 days due to severe heat wave in Pakistan. 141 bodies were recovered on Tuesday alone. The temperature in the country’s Karachi has crossed 40 degrees Celsius.

Pakistan’s Edhi Ambulance Service said they were transporting around 30 to 40 bodies to the city’s morgue every day.

The head of the emergency department of Karachi Civil Hospital Dr. Imran Sarwar Sheikh said that 267 people suffering from heat stroke were admitted between Sunday and Wednesday. 12 of them died. This information came out in a BBC report on Thursday.
