Geimi quickly reached the Taiwan Strait from the Ishigaka region. So far, at least one person has died and 58 others have been injured on the route.

The storm hit the northeastern coast of the country around Wednesday evening local time. Several flights were canceled earlier. Meanwhile, several casualties occurred in another Asian country, Vietnam, due to severe floods.
