Recently, a negotiation on the cease-fire in the Gaza Strip was concluded in Doha, the capital of Qatar. Egypt described the discussion as “important”. Which indicates the possibility of ending the 11-month-long conflict.

The talks were attended by Egypt’s intelligence chief Abbas Kamel, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Hamas delegation leader Khalil al-Haiya, Cairo News Channel reported Thursday, citing a high-ranking source involved in the talks.

The source said the talks were seen as “very important and a possible sign of resolution of the crisis”.

However, no details of the discussion have been disclosed.

Over the past few months, the United States, Qatar and Egypt have been working together to broker a prisoner exchange and cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas and to ensure humanitarian access to Gaza.

However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to accept the demands of Hamas, and all mediation efforts were thwarted.

Israel has continued to attack Gaza since October 7 last year. However, the UN Security Council has called for an immediate ceasefire.

According to the information of the local health authorities, about 41 thousand 119 Palestinians have been killed and 95 thousand 125 have been injured so far in the attack of the Israeli forces. Most of them are women and children.

Israeli forces have displaced almost the entire population of Gaza, and the blockade across the Valley has created acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine.

A case has already been filed in the international court against Israel for the genocide in Gaza.
