New imam-khatibs have been appointed in two mosques in the two holy cities of Islam, Mecca and Medina. This appointment was given on the orders of King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al-Nawabi, the head of the presidency department Sheikh Dr. Abdur Rahman As-Sudais announced the appointment.
Two new imams in Masjid al-Haram
Sheikh Dr. Badr at-Turki
Sheikh Dr. Waleed Ash Shamsan
They have served in Masjid al-Haram as the welcoming imam last Ramadan.
The new imam of the Prophet’s Mosque
Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Al-Burhaji.
Sheikh Dr. Abdullah al-Karafi
They also served as welcome imams in Masjid al-Nabawi last Ramadan.
There are several imams and khatibs in Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al-Nababi, who lead Friday and five daily prayers according to the schedule of the Board of Directors of Haramain Sharifeen.
The present Khateebs of the Masjid Haram are Shaykh Saleh bin Humaid, Shaykh Abdur Rahman Sudais, Shaykh Usama Khayat, Shaykh Maher Muaikili, Shaykh Faisal Ghazzabi, Shaykh Bandar Balila, Shaykh Abdullah Juhani and Shaykh Yasir Dawsari.
The preachers of the Prophet’s Mosque are Shaykh Ali Huzaifi, Shaykh Hussain Ale Shaykh, Shaykh Abdul Bari Chubaiti, Shaykh Abdul Muhsin Qasim, Shaykh Abdullah Buizan, Shaykh Salah Al-Budair, Shaykh Ahmad Bin Taleb Hamid, Shaykh Ahmad Bin Ali Huzayfi and Shaykh Khaled Muhanna.
