
India’s Union Finance Minister is unable to hold elections due to ‘lack of money’

The BJP has turned down an offer to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. India’s finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said because she does not have the necessary money to participate in the elections.
In India, the Lok Sabha elections will start from April 19. Will continue until June 1. The Election Commission (ECI) announced the complete schedule of the elections on March 16. Ruling BJP leader and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman spoke about not contesting the Lok Sabha polls on Wednesday (March 27) at a conference in the run-up to the elections. He said he was offered to contest from Andhra Pradesh or Tamil Nadu by the BJP.
Sitharaman says, after thinking for a week or 10 days, I say ‘no’. I don’t have enough money to vote. I am very happy. Because they accepted my argument. That is, I am not contesting the election.
In response to the question why there is no money to be elected as finance minister, he said that India’s financial resources are not his. My salary, my income and my savings— my; But these are not India’s resources. However, he said that he will participate in BJP’s election campaign even if he does not vote himself.
