At least 56 Israeli soldiers were killed in a truck attack on a bus stop near the Mossad headquarters north of the Israeli capital, Tel Aviv.

According to local media reports on Sunday, the truck drove at high speed into a bus stop near the Gillot military base north of Tel Aviv and rammed into Israeli soldiers.

At least six Israeli soldiers were killed in the attack, Al-Mayadeen reported. About 50 more Israeli soldiers were injured, 15 of them in critical condition.

Initial reports indicate that the truck drove at high speed into soldiers stationed at a bus stop near an intersection in the Gillot area of ​​Tel Aviv. An investigation has been launched immediately after the incident.

Israeli ambulance company Magen David Adom said its personnel were quickly on the scene providing emergency care to the injured, and the seriously injured were being rushed to hospital.

Al-Mayadeen also reported that a helicopter had also arrived at the scene to treat the injured following the attack.

Meanwhile, Israeli security forces shot and killed the truck driver who carried out the attack on the spot, according to the country’s media.
