The South Korean military has sent drones to the border with North Korea. The country’s defense ministry has made this allegation.
Condemning the South Korean military’s actions to achieve political objectives, Pyongyang said it was a serious violation of sovereignty. Reuters reported on Monday, citing North Korea’s state media KCNA.
A statement released by the ministry said that South Korea has flown drones over its capital city at least three times this month. Anti-North Korea leaflets have been distributed from the drones.
North Korean authorities claim that they have obtained more than 230 flight plan and log information by analyzing the flight control program of the crashed drone. They allege that the drones have been used to carry out ‘political propaganda’ since June 2023.
KCNA has released photos of some of the crashed drones. They claim that these are drones of the South Korean military.
South Korea’s defense ministry has not commented directly on the allegations. They have only stated that they do not feel the need to “verify Pyongyang’s unilateral claims or respond to allegations.”
