The moon of Zilhaj month of 1445 Hijri was sighted in the Middle East country of Saudi Arabia. Accordingly, the holy Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in the country on June 16.
On Thursday (June 6), the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia announced the sighting of the moon of the month of Zilhaj.
However, there is some confusion about the sighting of the moon in the month of Zilhaj in Saudi. Various media outlets in the Middle East, including the English daily Gulf News of the United Arab Emirates, first reported that the Zilhaj moon was not seen in Saudi Arabia.
Shortly thereafter, Gulf News, citing the Holy Mosque-based website Inside the Haramain, reported that an eyewitness claimed to have seen the moon in Al-Hari, Saudi Arabia.
In the post of Inside the Haramain given on the social media X, it is said that the moon of the month of Zilhaj of 1445 Hijri was seen in the sky of Saudi. The holy Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia on June 16. And June 15 is the holy day of Arafat.
According to the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia, since the country will celebrate the holy Arafat Day on June 15 and the holy Eid-ul-Azha on June 16, tomorrow Friday (June 7) will be considered as the first day of the month of Zilhaj.
