North Korea has launched a ballistic missile. The South Korean military confirmed the information on Monday (April 22).
North Korea fired a missile along the east coast of the Korean Peninsula on Monday (April 22), South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said. The missile fell into the sea 300 km away.
Meanwhile, after the launch of the missile, the Japanese government has issued a warning. North Korea fired a ballistic missile, the country’s coast guard said. Japanese broadcaster NHK said the missile fell outside Japan’s “exclusive” economic zone.
Earlier, North Korea launched a ballistic missile last March. At that time, the US Joint Chiefs of Staff said that North Korea had fired a ballistic missile towards the East Sea. Japan’s coast guard also confirmed the North Korean missile launch.
Then last Friday (April 19), North Korea tested a super-large warhead designed for a tactical cruise missile. Seoul’s military said it detected the launch of a cruise missile.
While ballistic missiles are banned under current UN sanctions on North Korea, cruise missile tests are not prohibited.
