British media The Sun has claimed that an attempt was made to poison ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Russia.

A recent report by The Sun mentioned that the 59-year-old Bashar suffered from a severe cough shortly after seeking medical help and died of suffocation.

The report claims that there is sufficient reason to believe that an attempt was made to kill Bashar al-Assad by poisoning him.

However, no official confirmation has been received on this matter yet. There has been no response from Bashar al-Assad or his representatives on this. Source: Mehr News Agency
