China warns of Israel-Iran tensions

Israel and Iran tensions are still high. China has warned about this tension in the Middle East. On April 13, Iran launched a drone and missile attack on Israel in retaliation. It was immediately condemned by world leaders but not by China. But they called for de-escalation and restraint.

China has said it believes Iran is capable of handling the situation well while protecting its sovereignty and dignity. Not only that, they are also able to avoid further tensions in the Middle East.

It should be noted that on April 1, Israel attacked the Iranian consulate in Damascus, the capital of Syria. The building was reduced to rubble. At least 7 people were killed including Quds Force senior commander Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi.

To take revenge, Iran launched a drone and missile attack on Israel on April 13. In view of this, China made that comment. This was reported by the news agency Reuters. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke on the phone with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian on Monday.

Wang said China appreciates Iran’s firm stance on not targeting regional and neighboring countries. Iran told Wang to limit its actions against Israel. At the same time, Iran has said that this attack was carried out in self-defense.

He said that China strongly condemned the attack on the Iranian Embassy (Consulate). They strongly oppose such activities. They consider this incident ‘unacceptable’. Abdullahian told Wang that Iran is aware of regional tensions. Tehran is interested in practicing moderation. Iran has no intention of further escalating tensions.
