The Chinese Foreign Ministry has assured that Beijing will continue to support Iran’s national security and stability.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian made the announcement at a press conference on Friday.
At the same time, he condemned the Western-backed terrorist attack on members of the Iranian border guard force in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchistan province.
Lin Jian said, “China strongly condemns the terrorist attack and opposes all forms of terrorism.”
On October 26, 10 members of the Iranian border guard force were killed in a terrorist attack near the Pakistani border in Taftan, southeastern Sistan and Baluchistan province of Iran. The so-called Jaish al-Adl terrorist organization based in Pakistan claimed responsibility for the attack.
In response, the ground forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched an anti-terrorism operation in the province on Friday. Four terrorists were killed in the operation.
It is said that the dead included prominent members involved in the attack that day.
Meanwhile, the Chinese official said that Beijing is also concerned about the recent Israeli attacks on Iranian military installations.
A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry said, “Influential countries must take necessary measures to rein in the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.”
It is worth noting that Iran launched about 200 ballistic missiles into Israel on October 1 in retaliation for the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and the operation in Lebanon and the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the former head of the Palestinian independence organization Hamas, in Tehran. About 25 days later, Israel carried out airstrikes in Iran on Friday night.
The Israeli military said that the retaliatory attack for the October 1 attack targeted strategic Iranian military sites. In particular, drone and ballistic missile production and launch sites.
Iranian state media reported on Monday that one civilian security guard and four Iranian soldiers were killed in the Israeli attack.
