
Cities in South Asia have the highest temperatures
Many Asian countries are on fire. In this suffocating situation, the temperature has exceeded 40 degrees Celsius somewhere in several countries of South Asia including India, Bangladesh, Pakistan.
At the beginning of summer, heat wave is sweeping across the parts of India. A temperature of 45 degrees was observed in Baripada in Odisha. According to the Meteorological Department, Odisha’s Bhubaneswar has recorded a maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius in the last one week.
A temperature of 41.5 degrees Celsius was recorded at the temperature measuring station at Dumdum airport in Kolkata in the last one week. West Bengal’s Panagadh recorded the highest temperature of 45 degrees so far. Bankura is also in that list. Purulia and Medinipur recorded maximum temperatures around 42-43 degrees Celsius.
In the last two weeks, the heatwave has spread throughout Bangladesh. Jessore recorded the highest temperature this year at 42.6 degrees Celsius. The figure has hovered between 40 and 41 degrees Celsius in the last one week.
Syedpur has recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degrees in the last one week. Besides, a temperature of 42.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Chuadanga. The maximum temperature recorded in Dhaka this year is 40.4 degrees Celsius.
This year, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, temperatures have crossed 40 degrees in several parts of Sindh. Sindh’s Nawab Shah recorded the maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius in the last one week, while Mohenjodaro recorded a temperature of 41 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature in Lahore has been between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius in the last one week. Balochistan’s Turbat region has long been recorded in the list of hottest cities. The temperature has reached 38 degrees Celsius there in the last one week. Between 37 degrees in Nankundi in Balochistan and 38 degrees in Sibi.
On the other hand, the maximum temperature in Karachi during this month is between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Karachi has been 36 degrees Celsius in the last one week.
The average temperature in Sri Lanka this month is 27.3 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Colombo this week is between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature recorded at the airport area of Sri Lanka’s historic city of Anuradhapura was 39 degrees Celsius. Ratnapura, the capital city of Sabaragamuwa province, recorded the highest temperature of 37 degrees Celsius in the last one week.
The average temperature in Maldives this month is 32 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in the last one week is 34 degrees. Data recorded last week on Gun, the southernmost island of the country’s Addu Atoll, recorded a maximum temperature of 32 degrees to 33 degrees. Gun is the second largest island after Hithadhu. The highest temperature in Fuvahmulah, Maldives, was 34 degrees Celsius in the last one week.
The maximum temperature in Nepal hovers between 39°C to 41°C. The average temperature of the capital Kathmandu is reported to be 28 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Bagmati region of Kathmandu is between 30-32 degrees Celsius this week.
