Bangladesh has slipped three places in the world’s most powerful passport index in 2025. Bangladesh’s position in the new list is now 100th. In the previous index, Bangladesh was ranked 97th.
The ‘Henley Passport Index’ is published every year. This index is prepared based on the documents of the International Air Transport Association (International Air Transport Association) with passports from 199 countries. It examines the ability to travel to 227 destinations in the world. The passport of the country whose passport holders can travel to the most countries without a visa, the stronger the country’s passport.
According to the new list, Bangladeshi passport holders will be able to travel to 40 countries in the world this year without a visa in advance.
Meanwhile, in the new index, like last year, Singapore’s passport is the most powerful this time too. The country’s passport holders will be able to travel to 195 countries without a visa in advance.
Japan is next in the new list of powerful passports after Singapore. The country’s passport holders will be able to enter 193 countries in the world without a visa. And passport holders of France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Finland and South Korea, who are in third place on the list, will be able to enter 192 countries visa-free.
In addition, passport holders of Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway, who are in fourth place on the list, will be able to enter 191 countries without a visa. Belgium, New Zealand, Portugal, Switzerland and the United Kingdom are in fifth place on the list. Passport holders of these countries will be able to enter 190 countries without a visa.

This list of countries Bangladeshis can travel to without a visa in advance includes Bahamas, Barbados, Bhutan, Bolivia, British Virgin Islands, Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde Islands, Comoros Islands, Cook Islands, Djibouti, Dominica, Fiji, Grenada, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Madagascar, Maldives, Mauritania, Micronesia, Montserrat, Mozambique, Nepal, Niue, Rwanda, Samoa, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Gambia, East Timor, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
Some of these countries and regions offer visas on arrival or upon landing at the airport, while some countries require an e-visa.
