Russian President Vladimir Putin has been accused of tricking ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Assad’s former adviser Kamel Sakr made this allegation in an interview.

New information is emerging about the last days of the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government in Syria. Deposed President Bashar al-Assad did not receive Russian assistance in dealing with the rebels. Assad’s former adviser Kamel Sakr even accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of tricking Assad.

In an interview, he claimed that Bashar al-Assad visited Moscow a week before the rebels captured Damascus. Before Putin met with Assad on November 29, the rebels captured the city of Aleppo. At that time, Assad asked Putin for military supplies from Iran to Syria to stop the rebels. However, Moscow did not take any action in this regard.

Assad quickly returned to Syria. However, he had to flee the country a few days later.

Meanwhile, after the United States, Germany is also making strong efforts to ease the sanctions imposed on Syria. However, in return, the rights of Syrian women and minorities must be protected. According to the Financial Times, this step is an attempt to establish constructive relations between Europe and the new Syrian leadership, the media reported.

In the current situation, Turkey has threatened to launch a military operation against Kurdish forces if the conditions for a peaceful transfer of power in Syria are not met. On Tuesday, Turkey’s Foreign Minister said that all means will be used to stop the US-backed Kurdish groups.
