Hamas, the Palestinian independence movement, wants to establish a new and independent non-partisan government in Gaza and the West Bank after the end of the war.
Husam Badran, the top official of the organization, said this in a statement on Friday.
In addition, Hamas leader Badran also spoke about the ongoing indirect talks between Israel and Hamas on a ceasefire mediated by Qatar, Egypt and the United States.
He said, through mediators, we have proposed to form a non-partisan national government. Who will take care of Gaza and the West Bank.
The Hamas leader also warned that the establishment of a post-war administration in Gaza is an internal matter of Palestine and that Hamas will not discuss it with any foreign power or group.
The Hamas official told AFP a “non-party government proposal” was made to the mediators. According to Hussam Badran, the post-war government will pave the way for a general election in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.
Earlier, Israel claimed that it would maintain control of the Philadelphia Corridor on the Gaza border with Egypt. After that Badran said these things.
Hamas has repeatedly called for the withdrawal of Israeli troops from all areas of the Gaza Strip after the end of the war in Gaza.
Meanwhile, despite these talks, Israel continues to attack innocent Palestinians in Gaza without interruption. Last Saturday afternoon, the Israeli forces carried out an aerial attack on the refugee camp in Al-Mawasi area of West Khan Younis, Gaza. At least 71 Palestinians were killed and 289 injured. Al Jazeera reported this information citing the health department of Gaza.
