Hamas will not back down from its terms of the ceasefire

Negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority for a new ceasefire in Gaza are underway. Israel presented its new proposal to the mediating countries in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. Now they are waiting for a response from Hamas.

Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh spoke about this on Jerusalem Day on Wednesday. Aljazeera news.

He said that they are still adamant about the conditions they have given for the ceasefire. If there is to be a ceasefire, it must be on their terms.

Haniya said that the occupying Zionist Israel continues to avoid the ongoing negotiations to stop the aggression. The occupiers are determined to continue their aggression. And Netanyahu and those who are with him, their goal is to stay in power as long as possible.

He added, “We are making it clear that we remain steadfast in our terms of a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of all Israeli troops from Gaza, the return of all Gazans to their homes, the provision of all the needs of our people, the reconstruction of Gaza, the lifting of the blockade and the exchange of prisoners.”

Since October 7 of last year, occupying Israel has been carrying out continuous brutal aggression in Gaza. About 33,000 Palestinians have been killed in the six-month war as of writing. Apart from this, around 1 lakh people, mostly civilians, were injured.
