The number of pilgrims in Makkah-Madinah increases during Ramadan compared to other times of the year. Especially in the last 10 days of Ramadan, there is an influx of Muslims.

According to Gulf News, more than 1 million Muslims from different countries around the world and different parts of Saudi Arabia have gathered at the Grand Mosque of Mecca and the Masjid al-Nabawi in Madinah to engage in worship during the last nights of Ramadan.

A large number of these Muslims are engaged in Umrah, Tarari and Qiyamullail prayers in the hope of attaining salvation in the concluding phase of this holy month which begins on the 20th day of Ramadan.

Thousands of Muslims are performing Itikaf in these two holiest mosques in Islam after successful online registration as part of spiritual worship.

The Saudi government is implementing a comprehensive operational plan through The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque to ensure safe management and comfort for the pilgrims who are busy performing the holy Umrah and worshiping.

The plan, which began last Saturday, includes the provision of comprehensive services and the deployment and use of both human and technological technologies to facilitate the smooth conduct of prayers and other rituals.

According to Gulf News, more than 4,000 workers under the supervision of 200 Saudi officials are working tirelessly to maintain cleanliness in these two mosques.

They are managing more than 3,516 toilets, 9,155 Zamzam water containers and preparing more than 35,000 new carpets for prayer halls and courtyards.

Also, 3000 handcars, 2000 electric vehicles and 6000 vehicle pushers have been arranged for the use of Umrah pilgrims and pilgrims.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia has given some instructions to the pilgrims to reduce the crowd.

In a directive, the ministry has called upon the worshipers, instead of coming to the Kaaba, they should pray at the place where the prayer is arranged in the hotel.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia decided to allow a Muslim to perform Umrah only once this Ramadan to reduce crowding. To perform Umrah, permission is required from the Saudi official website Nusu. Once someone performs Umrah, it is recorded in the app. When the same person applies for Umrah permission again, a message is sent to him. It says that one can perform Umrah only once in Ramadan.
