Houthis claim to attack 6 Western ships including Israel

The Yemeni armed group Houthi rebels claimed to have carried out drone and missile attacks on six ships of Israel, the United States and the United Kingdom in the last 72 hours in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

While crossing the Red Sea, their naval and missile forces attacked the ships Maesk Saratoga, APL Detroit, Huang Pu and Pretty Lady in the Red Sea and Gulf of Eden, the statement said. Among these, the first and second ships are from the United States and the third and fourth ships are from Britain.

He also claimed that two US Navy ships were attacked in the Red Sea. And their missiles have attacked various targets in the city of Eilat, Israel. They said that as long as Israel imposes a blockade on Gaza, they will continue to attack.

The Houthis claim that the Huangpu ship is British. But the US Central Command said it was a Chinese-owned ship.

The Houthis have launched hundreds of missile strikes in the Red Sea, the Bab al-Mandeb Strait and the Gulf of Aden in the past five months.

The Houthis claimed last Sunday that they had told Russia and China that their ships would not be attacked in the Red Sea or elsewhere. They will only attack ships belonging to and bound for Israel. Along with that, UK and US ships will also be their target.
