Huge fire in shopping center in China, 16 dead

At least 16 people have been killed in a massive fire in a shopping center in China. Many others were injured in this incident.

These people died in a fire in a high-rise building in the country’s southwestern Sichuan province on Wednesday evening, Reuters reported.

China’s state broadcaster CCTV said 16 people died after a fire broke out in a 14-story building in the high-tech zone of Jigong city. After the fire, black smoke covered the surrounding area. The rescue operation was completed at dawn local time on Thursday.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the fire started due to construction work. However, further investigation is underway to identify the exact cause of the fire.
