Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and imprisoned founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has acknowledged the rifts, groupings and conflicts within the party. He will hold a meeting with both sides in Adiala jail on Thursday to resolve the conflict.

Talking to reporters in the court room inside Adiala Jail, the PTI founder said that he would personally talk to them and the matter would be resolved. However, Imran also said that there is no major difference of opinion within the party. News from Jio News.

The former prime minister admitted the issue of grouping and infighting within the party at a time when the PTI is virtually in open internal strife and its leaders are speaking against each other. However, PTI’s core committee earlier this week denied the existence of any division within the party.

Last month, the former secretary general of Pakistan’s ruling party, Omar Ayub, resigned as party secretary general to focus on his role as the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly.

Also, several sources in the Imran-founded party told Geo News that 27 PTI-backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) legislators have discussed the possibility of resigning from the National Assembly as part of a protest against the party’s top leadership.

Sources also said that 21 of the 27 legislators have again hinted at forming a forward bloc over the top leadership’s failure to free the party founder from jail.

After a bloody protest in Pakistan on May 9 last year, a section of PTI leaders announced to leave the party. Because at that time they were accused of making inflammatory speeches and attacking state institutions.

A few months later and before the general elections held in Pakistan on February 8 this year, PTI leaders and activists who had left the party wanted to join the party ranks once again. But the PTI leadership then categorically denied taking them back into the party.
