Iran launched a major cyber attack on the country’s electricity sector before launching hundreds of drones and missiles at Israel. In this, Israel’s capital, Tel Aviv, turned into a blackout.

Iran’s semi-official Mehr News Agency reported the news on Lebanon’s Al Mayadin TV network.

The report claimed that a cyber hacking group called ‘Cyber Avengers’ carried out this attack. The hacking group announced in a statement that it had taken responsibility for cutting off electricity in parts of Israel’s occupied territories.

The group claimed it carried out the cyber attack in response to Israel’s war crimes in Gaza.

Meanwhile, after firing dozens of drones at Israeli territory on Saturday, Iran also fired several missiles. The incident was initially claimed by Israel and the US authorities, but later it was confirmed by Iran.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement, “We launched an operation using drones and missiles in response to the Zionist crime targeting the Iranian consulate in Syria.”

Dozens of missiles and drones were launched to hit specific targets in the occupied territories.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that the Iranian drone was shot down on Saturday night.

Israel’s Channel 12 TV reports that Iran has launched dozens of drones targeting the country. The launched drones will hit Israeli soil at 2 a.m. local time on Sunday. The media also said that the country’s defense forces are on alert, keeping an eye on all kinds of attacks.

After Iran’s drone launch, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that they have taken all kinds of measures for defense.

“Attack or defence, we are ready for everything,” he said. The state of Israel is strong. The IDF is powerful. The people here are strong. I applaud the position of the United States on the side of Israel and the support of Britain, France and other countries.

On April 1, Israel launched a deadly missile attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, the capital of Syria. 7 high-ranking officials including two commanders of the Revolutionary Guard were killed. After that, Iran started preparing to attack Israel directly to respond to the attack.

US President Joe Biden warned about the news of Iran’s attack earlier and said, “I don’t want to get confirmed information about the attack.” However, I think this attack will be carried out soon.

“We are committed to defending Israel,” Biden said. We will always support this state. We must cooperate to protect Israel and Iran cannot succeed.
