Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has alleged that the Iranian-led resistance axis has encircled Israel and that the Jewish state is under siege by the resistance force.
On Sunday, Iranian news agency IRNA reported this news on the Palestinian news agency Sama news agency.
Addressing a local meeting on Saturday, Netanyahu expressed concern that a civil war could break out in the occupied territories. At that time, he also accused that “Hamas is deliberately using the ongoing war in Gaza to incite a civil war inside Israel.”
Netanyahu also spoke about the growing pressure on his government. There have been increasing calls for an end to attacks on Gaza and a cease-fire.
In this regard, he mentioned the protest of millions of people in front of his residence in Tel Aviv. They have expressed anger at Netanyahu for not signing a cease-fire agreement in Gaza and demanded a prisoner exchange deal with the Palestinians.
Demonstrators gathered around Netanyahu’s residence carrying various banners, Israeli flags and pictures of Israeli hostages held by Hamas. They demand that the ongoing ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the exchange of prisoners with Palestinian groups should be quickly implemented.
The protest is a reflection of the ongoing political and social tensions in Israel. Where the anti-government movement is increasing day by day. According to the protesters, the ongoing conflict in Gaza is causing an increasing humanitarian crisis and calls for an end to the conflict through a prisoner exchange and ceasefire.
Netanyahu emphasized to the protesters that Israel must be united to face this disaster.
Already, more than 40,900 Palestinians have been killed and 94,700 injured in Israel’s continuous attack on Gaza for more than 11 months. Most of them are women and children.
However, Netanyahu had previously vowed to completely destroy Hamas and continued the invasion of Gaza. However, he has yet to achieve that goal.
He also failed to free the prisoners held by Hamas on October 7 last year. Yet he claims that only by removing the threat from Gaza will Israelis be able to return home peacefully. Source: IRNA
