Israel has sparked global outrage by releasing a video claiming there are ‘no innocent civilians’ in the besieged Gaza Strip. Recently, the video was published on an X account associated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.

The video claims that many Gazan civilians participated in the October 7, 2023 attack inside Israel.

It also said that Gazan civilians have trapped Israeli citizens in their homes. Along with this, the people of the world have been urged to strongly condemn it in the video.

The 51-second video apparently includes some footage from the October 7 Hamas-led al-Aqsa airstrike, as well as a segment of an interview with Maya Shem, who was freed by Hamas.

In an interview given in December after her release in the last week of November, Maya, a French-Israeli woman, claimed that there were “no innocent civilians” in the besieged Gaza Strip.

After the release of the X video, there was an outpouring of outrage and condemnation worldwide. Many say that Tel Aviv released the video to justify the indiscriminate killing of at least 37,300 civilians in the Gaza Strip.

“It’s disturbing, the language that brutal criminals speak,” said Mark Kirsten, a researcher at the Wayamo Foundation, a Berlin-based war crimes research organization.

Earlier, a week after the Al-Aqsa airstrikes on October 7, Israeli President Isaac Herzog also claimed that there were no innocent civilians in Gaza.

Meanwhile, after Maya Shem’s statement proved offensive, the Israeli government or X itself removed the video. However, the video still appears on an archive site.

On the other hand, 37 thousand 300 Palestinians have been killed and another 85 thousand 197 injured in the ongoing war in Gaza since October 7. Most of the dead were women and children.
