Many Israelis have been trapped there while fighting in Gaza, Palestine. The common people of the country protested in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv to free them and bring them back to the country. The protesters called on the government to make stronger efforts to free the prisoners in Gaza.
On Saturday, prisoners held in Gaza gathered outside army headquarters and other government buildings to demand their repatriation. Later they chanted slogans against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. At the time, they called for an agreement with the Palestinian group Hamas to bring back about 100 prisoners still held in the war-torn region.
Before this, when the bodies of six prisoners were recovered from Gaza in the last two weeks, Israel panicked about the rest of the prisoners. As a result of which massive protests started in Israel. It is said that approximately 750,000 people have participated in the protest, according to various media.
The families of the prisoners who took part in Saturday’s rally said they were disappointed with the government’s failed talks to bring the prisoners back to the country. Many blamed Netanyahu for failing to reach an agreement. According to them, Netanyahu can stay in power as long as the war lasts. And that’s why he has no desire to stop the war.
It should be noted that in response to Israel’s aggression in Gaza, fighters led by Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7 and killed more than 1,100 people and captured about 250 people. On the other hand, since Israel’s war in Gaza, 41,000 Palestinians have been killed and about 2.3 million people have been displaced.
