UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called for an end to Israeli operations in the occupied West Bank.

He commented that this campaign is already fueling the ‘situation ready to explode’.

On the other hand, the European Union’s Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid, John Lenarcic, commented that Israel is violating international law and human rights through the operation in the West Bank.

In an X (ex-Twitter) post, Lenarcic commented that the situation in the occupied West Bank is deteriorating.

Israel launched a so-called ‘anti-terror operation’ in the West Bank from Wednesday night. Israel’s barbaric forces carried out the biggest aggression in the West Bank in more than 20 years. Hundreds of troops were deployed in Jenin, Tulkarem and Tubas.

At least 18 Palestinians, including children, were killed in the Israeli attack.

Guterres strongly condemned the killings and called on Tel Aviv to protect civilians and ensure their safety.

Meanwhile, BBC correspondents are reporting that operations are still underway in some cities, including Jenin.

Jawal, the Palestinian telecommunications company, said telecommunications and internet services in Jenin were down.
