More than 1.5 million pregnant women in Gaza with health problems: UN

According to the United Nations, 150,000 pregnant women in Gaza are suffering from various health problems. Wafa news agency confirmed this information on Monday (May 13) quoting Al Jazeera.

More than 150,000 pregnant women in Gaza are facing dire sanitary and health problems amid the ongoing war, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinians (UNRWA) said in an X message on Monday.

This United Nations agency also said, ‘No child in the world should have to suffer this. We want a ceasefire.’

Meanwhile, UNICEF reports that 95 percent of pregnant and breastfeeding women in the war-torn Gaza live in extreme poverty.

The United Nations Population Fund recently reported that 62 aid packages of birthing materials are still awaiting permission to enter Gaza through the Rafah crossing.
