North Korea has declared South Korea as an ‘enemy state’. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country made this announcement on Thursday after amending the constitution in the Supreme Constituent Assembly of the country last week. Millions of young North Koreans have applied to join the army amid ongoing tensions with South Korea.
According to the country’s state media KCN, more than 1.4 million young people have joined the North Korean army this week.
The Kim administration has announced that so many young people are joining the army amid the ongoing conflict between Pyongyang and Seoul, including a series of military drills and the sending of dirt-filled balloons. Last week, the Kim regime accused Seoul of sending anti-North Korean leaflets to Pyongyang soil by drone. Pyongyang calls such actions by Seoul a political and military provocation, claiming that the leaflets are spreading propaganda.
Then on Tuesday, Kim’s troops bombed the northern link between Pyongyang and Seoul. North Korea has declared South Korea as an ‘enemy state’. According to KCNA, the Kim administration considers the declaration of South Korea as an enemy country a legitimate step. Pyongyang also commented that the two countries are “on the brink of war” due to Seoul’s political and military provocations.
North Korea’s supreme leader Kim Jong Un claims that he does not want war. However, he warned that Pyongyang will not back down if anyone wants to join the war.
