Pak Defense Minister asked Imran Khan to keep his mouth shut

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan should be kept quiet to reduce political tension. I think the PTI founder wants to raise the tension. He said this in the context of a post shared on Imran’s official X account.

The post quoted Imran as saying that every Pakistani should read the Hamudur Rahman Commission report and know who is the real traitor General Yahya Khan or Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Khawaja Asif said that Imran, imprisoned in Adiala Jail since August 2023, is again trying to create a situation like May 9. Efforts are underway to withdraw the tweet about the former president of Bangladesh. Barrister Gauhar Khan (PTI Chairman) said the social media team did not seek permission before making the tweet.

The minister said that he has a different position on the history of Bangladeshi politicians and the tragedy of East Pakistan. Criticizing Imran and his party, he said, “You want to increase tension by exaggerating the East Pakistan tragedy.”

Khawaja Asif said, be it politics or sports, he stung everyone who was good to him.

Meanwhile, the Federal Investigation Agency’s cyber crime team on Thursday decided to take action against Imran for controversial posts on social media. The agency reached Adiala jail that night to carry out the investigation, but Imran did not meet them.

Adiala jail sources said the former prime minister refused to be part of the FIA’s probe into the controversial social media post. He refused to answer any questions. He said that he will answer all questions in the presence of lawyers.

On the other hand, PTI chairman said that Imran has nothing to do with this post. Because he has not seen the posts uploaded to his account.
