Pakistan is going to launch a new messaging app called ‘Beep Pakistan’. However, it is said to have been made only for government officials of the country.
Al Jazeera reported in a report that the government of Pakistan is launching a messaging app called ‘Beep Pakistan’ for its government officials and employees. But it is not as advanced as the popular messaging app WhatsApp.
Pakistan’s Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaja Fatima Khawaja said in a statement.
Currently this Beep Pakistan has been piloted in the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication. It will soon be introduced in other government offices of the country.
He also said in an interview to Al Jazeera, “The main goal of this app is to protect the privacy and data of the government.”
However, while planning to launch ‘Beep Pakistan’ in August 2023, then Information and Communications Minister Syed Aminul Haque mentioned it as an alternative medium to WhatsApp.
Needless to say, apps like ‘Beep Pakistan’ have been launched by the government of Pakistan at a time when the common people of the country are being deprived of proper internet services.
