Nuclear power North Korea has fired a suspected medium-range ballistic missile into the sea from its east coast. South Korea claimed that it was launched from the capital Pyongyang on Tuesday (April 2) around 7 am local time.

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said it fell into the sea about 600 kilometers after launch. Japan’s Ministry of Defense believes it will be able to cross a distance of 650 km. Besides, the missile is capable of striking at a maximum height of 100 km.

The statement did not specify the exact type of missile. But it is certain that North Korea is testing a new intermediate-range hypersonic missile.

Japan said the missile fell outside its exclusive economic zone (EEZ).

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has condemned North Korea for launching this new missile. He said, such missile launch is affecting the peace and stability of the region.
