Saudi Arabia has cooperated with Israel to ensure protection from drone-missiles launched by Iran. This information was reported by the Israeli media KAN News in a report on Monday (15th) citing the website of the ruling royal family in Saudi.
According to the website of the Saudi royal family, Saudi Arabia has cooperated with the military coalition consisting of Israel, the United States, Jordan, the United Kingdom and France, in addition to using its own air defense system to destroy the drones and missiles launched by Iran.
The reason for this cooperation is stated on the website, “Saudi Arabia believes that Iran has been planning to take advantage of the conflict since the beginning of the conflict in Gaza, and that the recent attack carried out by Tehran is part of that plan.”
“Saudi Arabia never supports terrorism. Also, if countries support terrorism, they do not support them either.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) bombed the Iranian embassy in Syria on April 1. 13 people were killed. Among the dead were two senior commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the elite wing of Iran’s military, Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi.
Israel has not yet claimed responsibility for the attack. But the evidence is clear that the attack was carried out by the IDF.
Last week, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Israel must be punished for the attack.
Then on Saturday night and Sunday, the Iranian military launched more than 300 drones and missiles at Israel. No casualties were reported in the attack. Most drone-missiles have been destroyed by Israeli forces before they hit. However, it is reported that Iranian drones have succeeded in hitting 9 Israeli installations.
Iran has an extreme conflict with Israel over the issue of Palestine. That conflict has escalated since the start of an Israeli offensive in Gaza on October 7.
