Syrian Foreign Minister Hassan al-Sheibani said Saudi Arabia has confirmed its support for Syria’s reconstruction, unity and territorial integrity. He made the remarks on Friday after a Syrian delegation visited Riyadh.
The Saudi Gazette reported on Friday (January 3).
In a post shared on social media, al-Sheibani expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for the warm welcome, describing the visit as a landmark moment for the new Syrian administration.
Al-Sheibani said, “We emphasize Syria’s leading role in building positive relations in the region and advancing security, stability and prosperity alongside Arab countries.”
He said Saudi Arabia reiterated its support for the Syrian people and the new Syrian administration, expressing its willingness to contribute to the country’s reconstruction efforts.
Earlier on Thursday, Hassan al-Shibani, along with the defense minister and intelligence chief, met with Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman.
Prince Khalid described the meeting as fruitful. He also stressed the importance of ensuring Syria’s security, stability, and regional unity, as well as the aspirations of the Syrian people.
Last month, a high-ranking Saudi government delegation visited Damascus and met with the head of the new Syrian administration, Ahmed al-Sharaa.
