The Ministry of Finance has announced the construction of a temporary port at the border area between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
According to a statement from the ministry, a delegation led by the Deputy Minister for Revenues and Customs visited the port and discussed its construction with Turkmenistan officials.
The port is considered essential for the transfer of personnel and equipment for the TAPI project.
Sakhi Ahmad Paiman, the First Deputy of the Chamber of Industries and Mines, said: “The new port between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan will be effective in economic and political terms and in providing more facilities for the TAPI project and expanding relations. The TAPI project is a major project, requiring such an independent border and independent movement to accelerate the practical work of the TAPI project.”
Abdul Jabbar Safi, the head of the Afghanistan Industrialists’ Association, said: “In the world, all politicians or countries work on their economy. This is also a good opportunity for Afghanistan, as there is currently security throughout the country and no corruption, allowing work on fundamental projects such as CASA-1000, the TAPI project, the Trans-Afghan project, or the Mes Aynak Mine project in Logar.”
Some experts also regard the TAPI project as a significant regional initiative, highlighting its potential benefits for Afghanistan’s economic development.
“The TAPI project is a very important and vital project for Afghanistan. The more facilities are created to advance the work of the TAPI project, the higher its effectiveness can be,” said Abdul Naseer Rishtia, an economic expert.
Yesterday, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate shared a new video with TOLOnews, stating that all necessary equipment for the TAPI project has arrived in Afghanistan. He added that work on this major economic project has begun and is expected to be completed in Herat province within two years.
