Israel is losing public opinion day by day due to the indiscriminate killings in Palestine. Even though they supported Israel in the beginning, many are still unable to support this war. Israeli citizens are also getting angry with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Citizens of the country are already protesting to bring back the prisoners in Gaza. In this situation, UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan gave a strong message to Israel.
The United Arab Emirates stated their position that they will not support Israel’s plan in Gaza until a Palestinian state is established. In this regard, the foreign minister said on social media, “The United Arab Emirates is not ready to support the Gaza war without establishing a state for Palestine.”
Earlier, last May, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu published online a post-war plan for Gaza. Where he claims, if this is implemented, the Palestinians will enjoy unparalleled prosperity. The plan included facilities for ports, solar power, electric car production and the newly discovered Gaza gasfield. And this plan was to be completed in three phases by 2035 after the victory in the war.
The roadmap states that Palestinians in Gaza will carry out the plan under Israeli occupation. It will be overseen by a coalition of Arab states including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan and Morocco.
Emirati Foreign Minister Abdullah condemned Netanyahu in response. According to him, ‘this action lacked the legal authority to implement or take similar action. Because the UAE was not consulted on the Gaza plan. In addition, the UAE refuses to be involved in any plan to provide cover for the Israeli presence in the Gaza Strip.
He also said, ‘When a Palestinian government will be formed that will fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the fraternal Palestinian people. Be distinguished by integrity, competence and independence. The UAE will then be fully prepared to provide all assistance to that government.”
