Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the country’s cabinet on the invitation of Narendra Modi. For this he is going to India on Friday.

Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Nure Elahi Mina told the media on Thursday.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina congratulated Narendra Modi on the victory of BJP-led National Democratic Alliance-NDA in India’s 18th Lok Sabha elections.

In a letter congratulating Modi on Tuesday, Sheikh Hasina wrote, “On behalf of the people of Bangladesh and myself, I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations to you for the overwhelming victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA in the 18th Lok Sabha elections.”

The Prime Minister said that your decisive victory is one of the proofs of the trust and faith of the people of India in your leadership, commitment and steadfast sacrifice for the country. I firmly believe that the friendly and close relations between the two countries will continue in all respects as Modi embarks on a rare third term with a new people’s verdict.

Later on Wednesday (June 5) night, Narendra Modi thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the social media X message (formerly Twitter).

In his message of thanks, Modi said, I thank Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her warm wishes. India and Bangladesh have historic ties, which have grown exponentially over the past decade. I look forward to working together to further strengthen our people-centric partnership.
