US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in China on a three-day visit. Blinken landed in Shanghai on Wednesday.

He landed in China after the US Senate passed a military aid bill worth about 100 billion dollars for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.

He will meet Chinese business leaders in this city. After meeting with them, he will go to Beijing to meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and President Xi Jinping.

Beijing and Washington said that the US Secretary of State is visiting to strengthen dialogue between the world’s two superpowers and stabilize bitter bilateral relations.

The US Senate has approved a $95 billion foreign aid package that has been discussed to provide military aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. The Senate approved the resolution passed by the House of Representatives, the lower house of the US Congress, on Tuesday evening local time. The bill has been sent to President Joe Biden for his signature. If he signs it on Wednesday, it will become law. As a result, there will be no obstacle to provide military assistance to these three countries.

The bill allocates $8 billion to counter the Chinese threat to Taiwan and the wider Asia Pacific region. Apart from this, the US legislators have limited 9 months to the Chinese company ByteDance to sell TikTok to the US.

Apart from this, Beijing wants to solve several other issues with Washington. Allegations that China is fueling the fentanyl opioid crisis in America will also be discussed during the visit. In addition, the Ukraine war is expected to be the main issue in Blinken’s visit to China.
