
Three countries are recognizing Palestine, Israel is angry

Norway, Ireland and Spain are going to recognize Palestine as a state. The leaders of the countries said that this recognition will be officially given next week. Their initiative is to restore peace in the Middle East. However, Israel reacted angrily to such actions of the three countries.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stort said on Wednesday that a two-state solution was in Israel’s best interest. This recognition may come by May 28.
He said, peace will not return to the Middle East without recognition.
Shortly after Norway’s announcement, Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris said his country would also recognize Palestine as a state.
Harris said Ireland, Norway and Spain are going to recognize Palestine as a state. All of us will now take action nationally to implement this decision.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said on Wednesday that the country’s cabinet will also recognize the state of Palestine on May 28.
EU members Ireland, Spain, Slovenia and Malta have been indicating to recognize Palestine as a state for some time. They indicate to make this announcement jointly. According to the countries, a two-state solution is essential for lasting peace in the Middle East.
