The authorities of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque in Saudi Arabia have arranged to store the luggage of the holy Umrah pilgrims free of charge. From now on, luggage can be stored free of charge near the Makkah Library on the east side of the Grand Mosque and near Gate 64 on the west side.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported this news on Wednesday, citing the authorities.

According to the report, Umrah pilgrims can store bags weighing up to 7 kg (not separate items). Valuables, prohibited goods, food and medicines cannot be stored in the storage bags. A claim ticket must be shown to return the bag. Bags can be stored in the storage for a maximum of four hours.

The authorities said that in the future, there are plans to arrange for bag storage in all areas around the Grand Mosque.

Umrah pilgrims can avail this facility by showing a permit through the digital Hajj service gateway Nusuk app. To enter the Two Holy Mosques in Mecca, it is mandatory to obtain an Umrah permit through the Nusuk app.
