Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned Greece that Turkey will monitor all Greek actions and intervene if necessary.

Erdogan gave this warning while addressing a parliamentary group meeting in the capital Ankara on Wednesday. He also said that his government will continue to protect the Turkish minority in Western Thrace.

Erdogan stressed that the same situation applies to the rights of the Turkish Cypriot people. He said the Turkish Cypriots there (in Cyprus) have been victims of injustice and discrimination for almost 65 years since 1960. Yet Western institutions and organizations have done nothing about this persecution.

Turkish people and Turkish Cypriots are upset with the federalism proposal, Erdogan said, efforts will be continued within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Organization of Turkish States to achieve the recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Turkish President said, we are doing our best to improve our friendship with all countries and increase the number of friends.

Earlier on Friday, Moody’s upgraded Turkey’s long-term foreign and domestic currency issuer and foreign currency senior unsecured ratings from B3 to B1. The global rating agency said its outlook on Turkey is positive.

In this regard, Erdoğan said, this was the delayed action of the organization for 11 years. Because, Turkey’s economic power is very high.

The Turkish president said, “Our goal is to protect the economy from the vicious cycle and permanently increase the welfare of the people.” Because the vicious cycle always leads to inflation.
