Nasser Abu Sharif, a representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement, claimed that Israel’s recent attack on Iran was hasty and unplanned, which could not be successful.

He said that Iran’s air defense system repelled the Israeli attack with great caution and did not allow the attackers to hit their targets.

Israel launched airstrikes on several provinces and installations in Iran in the early hours of last Saturday (October 26). The country’s authorities said that four Iranian soldiers were martyred in the attack.

Iran’s air defense force said that when the attack began, the defense system was immediately activated and the Israeli attack was thwarted. Although it caused some partial damage and the extent of that damage is being assessed.

At the same time, Iran has pledged to take appropriate revenge for this attack. Iran has previously launched ‘Operation True Promise-2’ in retaliation. The attack on October 1 saw the launch of nearly 200 missiles at the occupation forces’ military and intelligence bases in the occupied territories.

The attack was carried out in retaliation for the killing of Palestinian and Lebanese resistance leaders and in response to the death of an Iranian strategic commander.

About 25 days later, Israel launched airstrikes in Iran early Saturday night.

The Israeli military said that the retaliatory strike on October 1 targeted Iranian strategic military sites. In particular, drone and ballistic missile production and launch sites.

IPJ representative Abu Sharif said that the Israeli attack was not only a military move but also a political one. The aim was to intimidate Iran and demonstrate Israeli power in the international arena.

He said that in reality, Israel did not achieve any significant success in this attack. Because Iran’s air defenses were prepared in time and with caution against this attack.

Nasser Abu Sharif also said that this failed attack could not reduce Iran’s defense or offensive capabilities in any way and that Iran is ready to respond strongly in the face of the Israeli attack.

The leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement noted that, “Iran’s resistance leadership will definitely respond appropriately and necessary to such aggression.”

Regarding the Israeli attack, the PIJ representative also said, “Israel’s allies, who supported this operation or watched it silently, must be responsible for weakening security instead of maintaining stability in the region.”

Abu Sharif also noted in his statement that the appointment of Sheikh Naim Qassem as the new leader of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah indicates the strength of this resistance force and its readiness for war.

He said, “This appointment sends a message to the United States that sanctions and pressure will not weaken Hezbollah’s will. Rather, with the new leadership, the resistance force is ready for greater victories.”
