Social media WhatsApp has been banned in China for a long time. But suddenly some users in the country are able to use this app without using any VPN.
US media Bloomberg reported in a report that WhatsApp service has been banned in China for several years. But recently, despite this ban, some users in the country are able to use this app for free.
China is often called the ‘Great Firewall’. Because the country takes great precautions in the use of social media used on the Internet.
Residents of China’s Beijing and Shanghai cities typically use virtual private networks, or VPNs, to access Meta platform services.
But now they can use WhatsApp on meta platform without using any such ‘tool’. However, apart from WhatsApp, other social media such as Signal and Instagram cannot be used in this way.
However, with such a ghostly arrival of WhatsApp, the country’s local social media could not become as popular as Weibo. Weibo is very similar to Twitter.
While some people in China use the popular messaging app Meta, most people use their native social media WeChat.
It is not yet known why this is suddenly happening in China. However, some users in China were previously able to access banned sites for a limited time. Experts blame network errors for this.
