15 people died in floods and landslides in Indonesia

Floods and landslides have killed at least 15 people in central Indonesia. Many houses were damaged and roads were washed away by the natural calamity. Indonesia’s Disaster Management Agency reported this information on Saturday.
It is known that hundreds of people have been moved to mosques or other places due to floods. More than 1,300 families have been affected and authorities are trying to evacuate them.
Indonesian Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) spokesman Abdul Muhari said in a statement that the landslide occurred in the Luwu area of South Sulawesi shortly after 1 a.m. local time on Friday.
He said about 14 people died due to landslides and floods in Luwu area. Later one more death was confirmed.
The organization said that more than hundreds of houses have been damaged due to floods and landslides. Besides, 42 houses were washed away, four roads and one bridge were damaged.
At least one person was killed and two others injured in another area in South Sulawesi province on Friday. Earlier last March, at least 30 people were killed in floods and landslides on the island of Sumatra. Besides, several others went missing.
