A citizen has been arrested in connection with a plot to carry out a terrorist attack against US forces deployed in Kuwait.

London-based Arabic newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported this information last Thursday.

The General Prosecution said last Wednesday that it had ordered the arrest of a man suspected of “joining a banned organization and plotting terrorist attacks in the country”. The suspect posted a recording of a banned group on social media ‘X’. Several other suspects are involved in this plan.

The prosecution also said the prime suspect had learned how to make explosives. They inspired others to learn how to use US Army barracks.

The prosecution interrogated the accused and he confessed to the charges against him. Also, other suspects involved in the case have been ordered to be arrested.

Earlier, on January 25, the Kuwaiti authorities announced that they had foiled a terrorist plot to attack a Shiite shrine. Three people were arrested in this incident. All of them are members of terrorist group ISIS and Arab nationals working in Kuwait.
