
3 countries including China are affected by severe floods

Eleven people died in flash floods in China’s northeastern province of Liaoning. At least 14 people are still missing. This incident happened on Friday, the country’s state-owned television channel CCTV reported in a report. According to the report, rainfall was heavy in the province’s Jianchang District, Suizhong District and Huludao City. Those killed and missing are also from these three areas. The provincial government told CCTV that the Disaster Management Department personnel have launched an all-out operation to find the missing persons. Incidentally, it has been raining for 4 days in Liaoning province. It has been raining non-stop from Thursday to Friday. Officials of the Provincial Disaster Management Office said that as of Thursday, more than 50,000 people have been evacuated from different areas of Liaoning to safe places.
Meanwhile, several weeks of heavy rains in the West African country of Mali have caused severe flooding. 30 people lost their lives in the flood. More than 47 thousand people have been displaced. Considering the situation, the country’s government declared a state of emergency on Friday. Floods started in different parts of the country from June. About 7 thousand 77 families have been affected by the flood nationwide. The country’s government said this in a statement after a special meeting of the cabinet. According to the statement, about 563 families and 4,639 people have been affected in the capital Bamako. Gao region in the north is the worst affected. There were 9 thousand 936 people affected and 6 people died. There has been heavy rain across the entire Sahel. The floods killed 217 people in neighboring Niger and dozens in Chad. The country’s cabinet has allocated 4 billion CFA francs ($7 million) to stockpile essential food for flood victims and help affected families.
The Middle Eastern country of Saudi Arabia has also been hit by heavy rains recently. Heavy rains have created flooding conditions in the country, resulting in inundation of roads. Traffic has stopped. Cars are under water in many parts of the road. In the meantime, the country’s National Security Service has issued a warning of more heavy rain in Mecca. Arab-Emirate-based media Gulf News reported this news on Friday. Earlier, the country’s meteorological department issued a red alert. It mentioned heavy rain in Taif, Ardiat, Adham, Bani Yazid and Maysan areas. The weather forecast has signaled heavy rain as well as lightning. Lightning forecast has been issued especially in Makkah Nijran, Jizhan, Asir, Al Baha. The country’s Meteorological Department said the situation was caused by the flow of tropical moisture into Saudi airspace and the shift of the tropical belt southward over the Arabian Peninsula.
