Israel says 440 Hezbollah fighters have been killed in the six days since the ground offensive began in Lebanon. On Saturday (October 5), the Israeli military announced this information in a statement. News from Times of Israel.

Israel’s army chief Lt. Gen. Harji Halevi said, “The Defense Forces will continue operations against Hezbollah. There will be no pause in the campaign until the target is achieved, and Hezbollah will not be given any concessions.

In a press conference on the same day, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said, “We are pushing Hezbollah terrorists to the north of Lebanon.” A section of the terrorists escaped from the area, while the rest were defeated and killed by our army personnel.

The Israel-Hezbollah conflict has been ongoing since the beginning of the Gaza war. However, on September 23, Israel launched a large-scale air attack on Lebanon. Several top commanders including Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrullah were killed. Then last Monday (September 30) the Israeli forces announced the start of the ground operation.

Meanwhile, Hassan Nasrallah’s potential successor, Hashem Safiuddin, has not been found since last Friday amid Israel’s ongoing attack on Lebanon.

According to information from the US media Axios, the attack was carried out on Thursday, targeting Safiuddin’s underground bunker. Hezbollah has not commented on this. However, the Lebanese armed group has denied the reports of Hezbollah’s uncertain future by various media outlets.

On the other hand, French President Emmanuel Macron called for a cease-fire in Gaza as well as an end to arms supplies to Israel. Calling for a cease-fire in Gaza, he condemned the duplicity of the country which at the end of the day helped Israel with weapons.

Criticizing Macron’s remarks, Netanyahu said Israel would win without the help of countries calling for an arms embargo.
