The Palestinian independence movement Hamas has indefinitely suspended the release of Israeli hostages for violating the ceasefire agreement.
Abu Ubaida, a spokesman for Hamas’s Qassem Brigades, said in a statement on Monday (February 9). Reuters reported.
He said that for the past three weeks, the leaders of the resistance forces have followed Israel’s violations of the agreement. They have failed to fulfill the terms of the agreement. Which include delaying the return of displaced civilians to northern Gaza, shelling and shooting at them in various places. In addition, they have failed to allow aid to reach Gaza as agreed.
Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered the army to be on the highest alert after Hamas’s announcement.
He said that they are ready for anything.
In another statement, Hamas said that the “door is open” to move forward with the release of the hostages. So far, Israel has released more than a hundred Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the hostages released.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian armed group Hamas has warned against US President Donald Trump’s threat to buy Gaza. The leaders of the organization said that if Trump takes such an initiative, disaster will come again. Gaza is not anyone’s property that can be bought and sold.
Trump’s statement was that he had “promised to buy and own” Gaza. After this statement, Izzat al-Rishek, a member of the political wing of Hamas, said in a statement that Trump’s plan is unrealistic. It is not possible to solve the Palestinian problem with the perspective of a real estate businessman.
