Netanyahu is at the door of the United States to prevent the arrest of the ICCC

The International Criminal Court (ICCC) has issued an arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu telephoned US President Joe Biden to prevent a possible arrest warrant.
Netanyahu spoke on the phone with the US president on Wednesday.
Citing two Israeli officials, Axios reported that Netanyahu called on Biden on Sunday to use Washington’s influence to prevent the ICC from issuing an arrest warrant.
Incidentally, there are rumors that the ICC may soon issue arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Galant and senior officials of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for ordering a series of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, which Netanyahu is under great pressure.
Hamas and Israel were involved in a war once in 2014. The ICC started investigating the war in 2017, but it was interrupted in 2020 due to the Corona pandemic. Later, the shock of the epidemic subsided, but the investigation did not start again.
But after the attack of Hamas on the Israeli territory on October 7 and the operation in Gaza as a result, the ICC revived the investigation. Meanwhile, ICC’s top prosecutor Karim Khan visited the Gaza-Israel border last December. He said that the old investigation will be started again during that visit.
The ICC’s top prosecutor told reporters, “This investigation will be dynamic, rigorous and entirely evidence-based.”
Regarding the issuance of the arrest warrant, a spokesperson of the International Criminal Court told the American media NBC, “We are conducting a free and open investigation into the situation in the State of Palestine.” Any steps we may take to facilitate this work; But since the matter is under investigation, there is no opportunity to say anything in detail in this regard right now.
Neither Israel nor the United States recognize the International Criminal Court’s decision. If the ICC does indeed issue an arrest warrant, there is no danger that Netanyahu or Yoav Galant will be arrested in Israel or the United States.
However, the European Union, an alliance of European countries, recognizes the ICC. Therefore, if the warrant is issued, Netanyahu, Gallant and IDF military officers will have to stop visiting many countries of the world including European countries. Because they are in danger of being arrested if they go to those countries until the warrant is cancelled.
