Five army personnel were killed in an attack on an Indian Army convoy in Durgam Machedi area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district. Six people were injured.

NDTV reported that the attack took place on Monday (July 8). This is the second attack on the Indian army in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 48 hours.

According to the report, army vehicles were on regular patrol on the Machedi-Kindli-Malhar road, about 150 km from Kathua. At that time this terrorist attack happened. Five people were killed and six were injured. The injured soldiers have been taken to the hospital.

After the initial attack, the terrorists hurled bombs and opened fire on the army convoy. The terrorists fled into the nearby forest when the army launched a counter-attack. Security forces have launched a search operation to nab the terrorists.

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that tough action should be taken against the ongoing terrorist attacks and not just empty voices or bullies.

In a post on social media X (formerly known as Twitter), Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge said, “Deeply saddened that four of our brave Indian soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. Six soldiers were also injured. We unequivocally condemn this cowardly terrorist attack on the army.’

Before this, an army camp was attacked in Rajouri district last Sunday. One soldier was injured.
