9 die in a bus accident in Turkey

At least 9 people died in a bus accident in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Another 26 people were injured in this incident. AFP reported this news with reference to the governor of the Ankara region.

The accident happened on the highway near the capital Ankara on Friday (August 9) morning. According to the news of the government television channel TRT, the accident happened at 5 am local time. The bus was going from Izmir to Egri city.

Ankara Region Governor Vasip Sahin said, initially, the bus driver fell asleep in the accident. There was no indication that the driver attempted to brake. An investigation has been started in this regard.

A tragic road accident occurred near the southern city of Mersin in Turkey last May. A truck collided with a bus and two cars on the highway, killing 10 and injuring 40.
